Job Summary:
The front of the house manager is responsible for all dining services and the overall direction of the beverage program. This position directly supervises the dining room managers, dining room and bar staff, and all other outlets such as the pool facility. The front of the house manager reports directly to the club manager.
Requirements:
· Minimum 3-5 years direct experience as a Front of the House Manager or equivalent position
· Strong wine knowledge
· Must be flexible to work nights, weekends and all major holidays
Essential Job Functions:
· Ensures safe food service conditions, applicable training/education of standards, and employee conformance with procedures.
· Hire, train and supervise subordinates and apply relevant standard principles to ensure the wants and needs of club members and guest are consistently exceeded.
· Manages operating budgets and takes corrective action as necessary to help ensure that budget goals are attained.
· Responsible for developing wine lists and bottle/glass wine sales promotion programs.
· Ensures new deliveries are stored properly and bin numbers, wine list and POS are all updated to reflect new items.
· Educate FOH staff on how to properly service wine including: opening wine, proper wine service, and how to upsell bottle wine.
· Monitors purchasing and receiving procedure for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, quality and price
· Helps plan staffing and scheduling procedures and job descriptions/specifications for all F & B department staff.
· Coordinate with the Executive Chef and Events Coordinator to executive private and club events.
· Greets guests and oversees actual service on a routine, random basis.
· Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the club manager and general manager about appropriate corrective actions taken.
· Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities.
· Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures.
· Approves all product invoices before submitting to the accounting department.
· Develops a capital budget for all necessary food and beverage equipment and recommends facility renovation needs.
· Completes other appropriate assignments from the club manager.
