Description and Qualifications
The HR Generalist serves a dual role as a strategic partner and an administrator of day-to-day human resources operations, programs, and projects to include on boarding, staffing, total rewards and recognition administration, compliance administration, and retention initiatives. Partners with management to create a culture of engagement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists with staffing and new hire processing as needed
Supports the onboarding and integration of new team members during their first 90 days
Partners with management to develop and implement team member engagement and retention strategies
Ensures consistent and fair administration of all company award and recognition programs, including team member discounts and reservations requests
Serves as the first point of contact for benefits questions. Partner with Benefits Specialist for open enrollment meetings, resolution of benefits issues and questions from team members
Ensures accuracy with HRIS and generate monthly reports on key HR metrics
Partners with the HR Manager to ensure consistency in handling team member issues and resolutions
Works closely with Benefits Specialist on the administration of Workers Comp claims to ensure filing on time and ensure appropriate additional administrative processes between the carrier, the team member, and the supervisor.
Assists in strategic initiatives as it relates to compensation management, organizational development, and talent management
Provides input on training initiatives and partner with the Training & Development group to build a culture of learning and development
Leads talent management initiative’s including high potential identification, career development, and job rotations
Maintains a high level of confidentiality in regards to Team Member information or issues
Builds relationships with Team Members and proactively spends time visiting Team Members in their work areas
Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Must maintain regular and consistent attendance
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Must have 2-3 years’ experience as in a HR Generalist or Business Partner role
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
SHRM CP or SCP preferred
Experience with, and knowledge of, employment law, benefits administration and laws, compensation, HR operations, and compliance
Experience developing a culture of learning and engagement
Experience in the Food & Beverage and Hospitality Industry preferred
Must be able to communicate with all Team Members in a professional and courteous manner
Must be able to establish relationships with outside vendors and communicate needs and requests to them accordingly
Basic Math and Excel skills
Must be able to exercise appropriate judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods
Must be able to walk to various locations on the property
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
