Program Assistant Part Time

SUMMARY: Role model. Supervise, lead, teach and explore with youth Club members (5-18yo) in activities and special programming.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure physical and emotional safety of members at all times.
• Provide guidance and positive role modeling to youth.
• Encourage program participation in fun, enriching environment.
• Participate in training and development opportunities.
• Monitor behavior and implement discipline policy for members as necessary.
• Assist in leading programs including sports activites, adventure programs, homework help, gardening, visual and performing arts.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:

• Participate in special programs/events.
• Set up and strike daily program equipment.
• Daily problem solving, critical thinking, and ability to adapt.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Experience in working with children strongly preferred.
• Desire to motivate and provide enriching environment for youth.
• Fluency in Spanish strongly desired.
• CPR and First Aid Certification strong desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be in moderate physical shape (able to stand for long periods of time, walk, and occasionally run without tiring), may be required to lift up 55lbs.
